I am designing a study to investigate echolocation in the blind. I am in desperate need of participants.
This is with an aim to understand more about the acoustics of echolocation, thus enabling us to contribute to the development of training strategies and assistive devices for the blind.
The study would involve participants listening to pre-recorded sounds that have been made with reflecting boards in various positions. The participants would be required to listen to these sounds, decide if and where a board is and respond by pressing a button. We are very much in the preliminary stages of designing the study so all of the details, such as location and times, are not yet fully known.
I am desperately looking for blind participants over the age of 16, ideally with good hearing on both sides.
Any help would be really appreciated!
