THE ROYAL STANDARD
ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAMME 2009

The Royal Standard invites artists working in all media and at any stage in their career to apply for our 2009 Artist Residency Programme.

Two artists will be selected to work in our gallery space for a period of 21 days each followed by a week-long exhibition opportunity. However, the presentation of the work produced during the residency is not restricted to a conventional exhibition format and could take the form of an event, discussion, screening, performance, etc. Resident artists will have sole use of The Royal Standard's gallery space and access to all our facilities and equipment, and will be supported by a £500 artist fee, up to £750 materials, free accommodation with practising artists in Liverpool, travel expenses and marketing of related events / exhibitions by The Royal Standard.

The artists will receive ongoing support from the directors of The Royal Standard throughout the residency period and the conception and delivery of the outcome. Opportunities to meet with local artists, initiatives and curators will also be made available, in addition to the benefits of working in a new studio environment with an extended social network.

Residency 1: Monday 13 July - Sunday 2 August 2009
Exhibition: Monday 3 August - Sunday 9 August

Residency 2: Monday 10 August - Sunday 30 August 2009
Exhibition: Monday 31 August - Sunday 6 September

Deadline for applications: Sunday 14 June 2009
Artists short-listed: Friday 19 June
